THE TAILOR’S WIFE AND HER BREAK FOR FREEDOM

In Kaltern, stories are told about the tailor’s house. It is said that it was once home to a busy tailor named Wiunig and his beautiful wife. She led a very secluded life – and not through her own choice. The neighbours could sometimes spot her on the roof terrace, looking sad and lost in her thoughts or buried in a book. At first, nobody took much notice… but then the news spread faster than the tailor would have liked. His wife had deserted him. She had escaped and gone to Switzerland, where she lived free and happily ever after.
